I originally posted this in the center pin forum because I figured that some of the guys using the rods would have an opinion. Maybe this is a more appropriate place?
I have been building rods for many years but never one for center pinning. I figured it was about time to take the plunge and build one! I decided on a 3 piece 13'6" Raven IM9. I have done some research on guides and have found many different opinions. Is there any real advantage to the high framed guides or would I be just as well off with standard height single foots? I plan on starting with a #20 and finishing with #7's or 8's depending on how they lay on the tip.
Any help or advice would be appreciated!

Re: Rod question
I start with a 20 high frame and work down to a normal single foot. I am not a big fan of high frame all the way up.
20, 12, 8's up for cold weather. Smaller if not freezing weather. Eric
Re: Rod question
On all of my float rods I have Fuji TYSG or ICYSG. I start with #20, 16, 12, 10, 8, 7 to the top.Stanley's ice-off paste applied night before and you will be OK.
You could try lighter(and cheaper Vesko
