Dogs love to chase rabbits.
Apparently they also like Hare's ears, Hare's Ears Nymphs, Hare's masks, and the wastebasket that holds the leftover hare hair.
Bad dog.

Ha, they are also partial to expensive rooster saddles. I'm lucky, my dog has only gotten into my materials, never the finished flys........unhooking the spaniel would be difficult I imagine.
I had my English Setter grab a streamer on the end of my line.... had it in her mouth and did not get hooked. Another good reason to go barbless.
I'd feed her blue gills we were culling out of the pond. She's eat the head only. Got so she would point the grass carp she could see from the shore I used a pheasant wing to steady her on point in the back yard so she was patterned Re: Dogs and Fly Tying
My mentally retarded rat terrier decided one afternoon that it would be a
great idea to chew up an entire Jungle Cock Cape.. Say good bye to 200 bucks.. I've got you guys beat.. Somehow I lost though.. lol
Re: Dogs and Fly Tying
Ouch on the jungle cock. The wife's cat has chewed up a few packs of marabou, some rabbit cape, and a couple of small pieces of bucktial. I hate it when I forget to shut the door to the fly tying room.

My GSP got the midge larva on a double dropper rig, I gave the top fly a tug, no luck. Cut it as close to her mouth as possible, and got lucky. I figured a size 20 annelid would rust out and pass, it did. I have a buddy who has spent a few hundred getting buggers back out twice, ouch. The x-rays just show a bead head and a hook, feathers, thread, and krystal flash don't show. But the x-rays are in a frame next to the tying table as a reminder
