Its tied a little thick. Sparse is better with Marabou Speys. Also, work on how you finish your heads. Keep it short and tapered. The one in the pick appears to be too long and isn't tapered much.
you have something there that will catch fish, to many that is all that matters. With time and practice, that bad boy will be shinning.
One of the first flies I every bought was an articulated version with that same color scheme and it worked extremely well. Besides the two recommendations from the above post, I don't really see a problem with it. Maybe tie some with less flash just in case the fish are a little picky.
Looks good. Definately shorten up and taper the head. Also, i've been adding a small stinger hook to my larger spey flies to pick up more of those short strikes. Something to think about.
Thank you for all the replies. I have already started tying the stinger version of this fly, though a little different, i used zonker strips to the back stinger and palamored it forward, then added some marabou over that,
