I been using the Raven Balsa & thought they were good , using them for maybe 2 yrs , only time I had 1 crack was when I kinda crushed 1 , fighting a fish should not damage the float . Blackbirds are ok but crack in freezing temps & collect water , stop uisng them .
Riverwoods are also good floats

I use thill gold medals. They have some unique designs and have been around for a while. Quality is generally good with a few floats that tend to break every now and then but I have fixed many with epoxy.
The power float works great for deep river mouths with heavy rigs. Turbo master is my favorite model, even the largest turbo master model is sensitive enough for trout fishing. The smooth stream works awesome on finicky browns who only hit very lightly in the smooth current areas. The river master is also sensitive but can handle more powerful current than the smooth stream, another great brown trout float. With the thill system you could have four small pieces of tubing on your line and fish every float in the gold medal line and that would cover every situation imaginable. I have never needed another float because the system that thill offers is just about perfect. That and I placed a large order in 2000 and I am still using the floats that came with that order!
