I am wondering of any warrenty to these rods croix will bring. croix usually apps some sorta Warrenty to all there rods. I will be sure to get mine ordered from criag asaic

All Avid rods have a Lifetime Limited Warranty - against manufacturer defects.
(anything above the Premier/Mojo/Triumph <SC2> carries a lifetime warranty).

Here's how a rod warranty works, for the most part....
Most manufacturers will tell you this: "If there is a manufacturing defect in a blank it will break within the first few hours of fishing". This means that when your rod breaks six months down the road that it was not the manufacturers fault/defect, but more than likely the anglers fault due to misuse or abuse.

St. Croix is an excellent company to deal with. Their customer service department is second to none. If you have an issue with a blank (section) they will replace it, and at worst charge you about $25 for the new section (plus shipping).

Don't forget the noodle rod, the 10'6". I have been waiting for an upgrade to the trusty wild river noodle. I am looking forward to that stick for some trout slayage. When things get ridiculous with salmon season and its seems like the whole world is bed humping its nice to slay some trout and still go home with sore arms.

I have been waiting for these rods for years! St.Croix rods have always been to me rods that you use day in and day out and never think twice about them not being there for you. Thats why at one point my brother and I had over 26 Croix's.

This is one of the few companies that I am "fanboy' about and proud of it. Croix boy for life baby!

Its finally time to replace my lucky st.croix hat thats over 10 years old, that thing has a permanent sweat stain on the inside and out.

When these new rods come out all of my rods will be st.croix, everything from fly, spin and steelhead rods. I will be selling all of my other sticks and replacing them with new croix's.

I am stoked..can you tell....who's with me!!!

Here is some updated info on the 11 foot model.

The 11 foot model is just that 11 feet; not 11' 6", and it is a 2 piece rod.
The price of the finished rod is $240
The price of the blank is $140
Blank weight is 2.6 ounces (5.0 tip and .445 butt dia.)
Tenn. style handle with sliding rings (same on all models)
Fuji Alconite guides 20, 16, 12, 10, 8, 7's to the tiptop. (same on all models)
Power is Light (4-8# line -- 1/6 to 3/8oz)
Action is Moderate.

It sounds like a nice stick, but as I said before I personally prefer something a bit faster action. Which is why I'm waiting for two CTS blanks to arrive

Thanks for the information. I am really looking forward to this series. The price point is just right for me considering the performance of this series. I have multiple avid's that I run for smallies and trout.

Its funny, I just built a rainshadow 10'6" medium fast action 8-12lb power float rod and I would have preferred a softer action towards the tip. Every one is different.

I am going to save my components I had lying around for my old gl3 rebuild and use them for at least one avid! I am just kicking myself because I bought the better cork for that rainshadow build, I should have saved those grips for the croix...

So who's gonna carry the blanks right away in your opinion? mudhole? anglers workshop?

Both of thse places should be able to get you rods/blanks as soon as they release. If not any St. Croix dealer should be able to hook you up.

Factory rod is available now - blank won't be out until January 10... last I heard.

Factory rod available in January. I don't' know where you heard of the December 1st release date, but all the literature I have in my shop (plus direct word of mouth from the St.Croix rep) states a release of January 1, 2010. I doubt the St.Croix rep would lie to me about it, but then again, maybe some locations did get the rods early. That's not usually the way St.Croix works though.
