Try this one out. It is represents the tiny winter black and the early black stones well. Great flutter and movement. I think the name I gave it fits well too.

Dhise, have you or do you know if anyone has ever turned that fly into an articulated fly?

It is articulated. I started tying it about 8 years ago in the articulated form and it made a difference. Pain in the rear to tie though; 5 sets of goose biots.
