Question for BIIX 11' 7wt

I have just staeted spey with Bron IIx 11' 7wt with 3M Single Hand Skagit Head 7wt + T11 10ft. Please anybudy help or advice me about following question. I fish Ohio trib, Grand,Chaglin or Cnneaut.
1. I can cast 55' constantly with the set up. Is that enough to fish?
2. 100 grain sink tip is enought to get proper flies to sink the hold spot?
3. What kind set up do spey casters in OH trib use for the puupose? let me know rod length, wt, spey line, sink rate of tips...
4. Can I catch fish with the set up in even Winter time? What water temperature is good to catch steelies for the swinging fly technique?
5. What kind of flies are better for the technique.

I don't fish where you do, but I can help with some of them:
1. Yes, absolutely.
2. Depends on the hold spot (current, depth, water temp), but it will definitely take fish.

4. Yes, and I've caught steelhead on the swing in 34 degree water. The colder the water, the more important it is for a) your swing depth to put the fly near the fish and b) keep the swing speed slow and ending on the drag in slow water of at least a couple feet of depth. In cold water the fish will follow more slowly, but they will still play. Ideal temps would of course be warmer than liquid ice.
5. Talk to the locals, but I like big bugs such as baitfish, leeches and sculpins. Make it worth the chase for the fish.

If you're new to this game, I highly recommend finding someone else who does it in your area or a guide who's known for that kind of fishing (not just a guide who claims).

For fishing Erie tribs go w/ minnowy imitations in whites,olives, lt blue or grey. If the water is clear a # 10 is not too small but flies such as intruders and leeches to 4" will also work,esp for fish in fall and spring or high water.Wooly buggers,#10-4, in wht,olive and black are also good. Rabbit strip or marabou Muddlers have worked well for me too.
100 gr head is fine for where you fish,could go as much as 300 w/ that rod though it's probably not neccesary,it's a real cannon. I built one for a buddy of mine and it'll lay out an entire line w/ no effort...although for those tribs you won't need that much line,55' is plenty enough and I'll bet most casts are shorter.Ted

Did you? Sorry, I coludn't find your post, so I might have done a no responce. So, If you wanted to help me, please tell me which ohio trib. should I go steelheding on nexstweek Tuesday? As you know, I've just fogotten how to catch a Big Yamae trout instead of learning to catch big brown at Madriver in OH.
