I am looking for a 9 1/2' or 10' in 7 or 8 wt to do some indicator fishing. I usually just c and d with my 9 foot sage, but ready for a new rod. I like a rod with a bigger fighting butt. I am looking at the TFO Professional and the redington RS4....Anyone use either rod..???? Thanks, Scott
Re: Indicator rod for steel
ive got a tfo and have used it drifting indicators quite a bit. the rod works well for me and is nice for overhead casting as well as roll. not sure about the rs4 though, i fished a redfly 11'3" rod for six years turning over indicators on lake erie tribs. worked great until i had to load up on shot it was not enough rod to turn it over. i now have a cpx switch that does a fine job. a side note is quick easy warranty replacement.that is how i ended up with the cpx. i dont feel u can go wrong with either rod.
Re: Indicator rod for steel
I just bought a Redington 9 1/2' in a 7 wt. I couldnt pass up the deal. Brand new for $94 out the door..I might pick up an 8 weight in the TFO to do some comparisons....Scott

Re: Indicator rod for steel
TFO gets fantastic ratings for just about any rod out there......and the price point cant be beat.
Any 7 wt rod thats 9 1/2 r better with a faster action will do just fine. Dont sweat the details and fall victim to price rape. It can be purchased right through our site sponsor, Flydepot.com. Show a little love !
