Can you catch steelhead at night and whats the best way?
Can You throw hardware at them or is it better to drift at night?

If you are talking rivers in WI, for LM tribs, it is illegal to fish after 1/2 hour after sunset to before 1/2 before sunrise.

If you are talking rivers in WI, for LM tribs, it is illegal to fish after 1/2 hour after sunset to before 1/2 before sunrise. Check your regs for where you fish as it appears other states may consider adapting similar regs.

Back to your question, use a bit of glow in the dark, either jig, spoon or plug. Most time bait outproduces, but fish preference can change at any moment.

Steelhead are mostly sight feeders, but they can be caught in the dark. They don't just swim around bumping into stuff at night. :lol:
