Here a few patterns I created over the summer. Let me know what you think.

I call this one "Revenge of the Eggs"....or you could call it LSE

Name Change: Egg Farting Leeches (per "speyday")

Hook: Daiichi 2220 #4
Thread: Black
Tail: Fl. Orange Pearl Diamond Braid tied to one piece of Mono
Body: Black Pearl Medium Chenile with 3/4" piece of Black Zonker on top


This one is "NuRD".... short for Nuclear Rabbit Droppings

Hook: Daiichi 2220 #8
Thread: White
Tail: Fl. Charteuse Pearl Diamond Braid tied to seperate pieces of Mono
Body: Purple/Baby Blue Crosscut Two Toned Rabbit
Collar: Fl. Blue Senyo's Laser Dub
Bead: 1/8" Black Nickel


These two dont have names yet.....

Hook: Daiichi 2220 #6
Thread: Brown
Flash: Red Krystal Flash
Tail: Brown Wooly Bugger Marabou
Body: Brown Medium Chenile wrapped w/ Copper UV Hackle Flash
Collar: Mallard Flank followed by Orange Irridescant dubbing

Flash: Pearl Krystal Flash
Tail: White, Black Barred Blood Marabou
Body: Purple/Baby Blue Crosscut Two Toned Rabbit

I like the black one as well, but wouldn't the leach or whatever be chasing the eggs and not the other way around? I guess I could tie on an egg and run a short dropper to a streamer to achieve the same look. Let us know if these work.

You are right....the Leach should be chasing the eggs...and I have bunch of those too. However, in my moments of boredom my mind runs wild and I tie up some weird things. I've only been tying a few months and have probably cut more weird flies off the hook and started again than I care to think about. At least I've gotten a lot of practice. These four just caught my eye as intriguing, so I figured I see what people thought of them.

If you are new at the vice, you should keep some of that crazy stuff to look back on later, I am 34 and some of my first attempts are going on 25 years old. They still look pretty bad, overcrowded eyes, disproportionate wings and tails, odd materails for the ones I couldn't get at the local shop, but still fun to laugh at.
Some of the guides I was with in CO a number of years back tied up some scarlet and grey wolley buggers, they worked better in milky water than anything else "conventional" we were using.
The alley is an amazing place for fly tying, the pros are inventing new materials and any guy out there with a vice can stay fully stocked with eggs, jigs, and streamers. This upcoming season I will have a few copies of flies that I pulled out of trees that I have never seen anywhere. Thank you that guy who hung up on the Grand with the purple larva lace bead head caddis looking thing.
Fly patterns and materials are a couple things that the internet is making better, rather than worse.

Ninja, I like the olive un-named fly. I like to swing olive streamers with a litle flash in the fall for salmon. I had a similar pattern (with rabbit zonker instead of marabou) that caught a couple of atlantics last year. Your ties will definitely catch fish. Good luck!

Yeah, the olive one is really fishy. I like non descript grubby blend into the bottom colors. Predators have absolutely no problems seeing them even from a distance.

Hey, think about this....If you want those egg farting leeches to sway more, try using some power pro to attach those little egg turds. its very durable and waves around a lot more than stiff mono.

I like this one myself im going to tye it with silver fox instead of the White, Black Barred Blood Marabou for a tail pretty much the same look

I Gotta say this much man, I have never had any problem with a leech egg combo of any kind so as far as the egg farting goes i plan to take it with me so thanks for that.. In my experiences so far even the worst looking big ugly you have will turn one out somewhere,, something different works a lot better than the same old thing. As long as what you are tying looks like it could occur in nature, all it need to do it be place there, and brought to life.. good call on the power pro who ever that was I agree./.

I really like the black one. You have mentioned that you have tied Fl. Orange Pearl Diamond Braid to one piece of Mono. Could you please mention where I can find Mono? I mean in what kind of stores will I be able to buy this?

As they say any color is good as long as its "black", others will work too but black I always have confidence in.
