I hope this forum gets browsed more than I think it does.
I recommend, for your sake and the sake of your children, that you watch the film
"An Inconvenient Truth"
If you think Global Warming is a problem, youre wrong. Its a crisis.
It is a presentation based on the life's work of Al Gore. I have a new found respect for Gore, and this has had a huge impact on me personally in several ways.....ethically and politically (but thats not for this forum).

while not an Al Gore fan, macareena dance first and foremost, its a shame this issue runs along political lines instead of the facts--while predictions of doom usually turn out to be false we shouldnt turn our back on it. remember no one believed the guy in the movie "invasion of the body snatchers" until they found a truckload of pods--i think they got my wife--she is not the person i married--foghorn
Speyday, Al just came out with a enviroment friendly line. It is water soluable, the fish love it. The only drawback is the tax on it. Well, I better head out to the river. My Saburban has been idling now for 13 hrs. It should be warm enough to move now.
I can see by your first two posts on this forum, your insight will be valuable If you can't add anything useful to this sight...gtfo
Hmmm Lets See...GTFO? Gore The Foul Orifous..No No I know. Gore Turds Flatulants Ozone? I think I am on the right track? I am not as good with abbreviations as I am with the fly rod. Love ya
Re: ***** Must-see movie ****
Mr Gore needs to do better research and get a clue before he produces "Inconvenient Truth 2". Just think how much trouble we would be in as a country if he were president for 4 years. I hate to make a political statement on a fishing site, but he might be one of the biggest hippoccrats out there right now. The fishing is great, water is clean, and the fish are doing well. I hope you enjoyed your sience fiction movie and am curious to know if you are a big Rosie ODonnell fan too?
While presenting a beautiful copper john(Made in China) to a unsuspecting healthy chrome dome. I couldn't help but think of the "acid rain" that fell ever so gentley upon the water(Yes, It Is Comming Back!) The day was cold and the earth was freaken HOT! But I continued to fish anyhow. I don't know what the chrome dome was thinking he was going eat. But he swallowed the copper and steel like a champ! He skated across the water like Brian Boytano did when he won the gold and he had the arial moves of Greg Luganus. I was in for a battle. My enviromentaly friendly line was so strapping! Yes, I was winning the battle. Yet with all the splashing and drag screaming, a polar bear caught the corner of my eye. I dropped my rod and swiftley pranced to the nearest tree and hugged it with hopes of not beeing spotted. My day ended without a scratch. But the bear did manage to eat my fish! LOL
Dear Rusty,
You must fish those wonderful streams near my favorite hole. I too was fishing the other day with a wonderful light mist of acid fog upon me. It was the most prescious day, soaking in all those soothing aromas of the burnt high octane traveling the bridge above me. At peace I was, not even a bite, when this big 900lb polar bear came about. The bear looked somewhat odd at first until I noticed it had shed its heavy fur skin from the global warming. I was frozen in my spot from fear, when out of no where came this cowboy with a sawed off shot gun and watched as he put that hairless bear out of his misery. Much to my surprise, my savior was Ted Nugent out for a little target practice. We built a camp fire, sang old songs, hit the pipe, and feasted on bear all nite long. Can't wait for that next day on the river.
according to NOAA (you fools know who they are right? oh right...you probably don't believe in science..praise jesus and GW) 2006 was globally the warmest year ever, with all the years since 93 falling in the top 20 warmest years on record.
Of course...that's no reason for concern...since global climate change is a left wing conspiracy...and its never been proven. Right Get out of the 90's morons. BTW...your stories, as hard you tried...could have been waaaaay more entertaining.
2006 was a hot year! Sasquatch was spotted over 50 times. Elvis made a visit and Y2K reared its ugly head again! Dr.Rusty say's"Let us now FISH".
Kweetek - Don't know where you got your information from NOAA, but it is far from accurate as you presented it here. Not even close, as a matter of FACT. I do not profess to be an expert on the subject, but am not uninformed either. Automatically believing those with specific agenda is inherently mis-guided. Concensus is a result of VOTING, NOT SCIENCE!!! Science simply DOES NOT support your 'embraced' impressions of our 'impact' on the climate. Oh, and, by the way, if we caused it, why is it apparently nearly impossible to fix it? It is estimated that if every nation on earth adopted Kyoto for a 50-year period, the result COULD be as high as a reduction of .07 of one degree. Seven Hundredths!! What the H---, man?!?
Dr. Rusty has just entered the stream! I know I didn't bring up the global b.s. on a fishing forum. I do in fact consider myself an expert on everything. FYI I did witness a steelhead eating another steelhead! They must be getting ready for the thaw! You know ....Like Al said, "The polar caps are melting"! The earth is forever changing. Ask a geologist! If you think a waterless urinal or a friendly light bulb is going to stop MOTHER EARTH from changing you need to check to see how significant you really are! Long before us fisherman, creatures on earth froze to death.(According to history?) I understand that flatulence were the cause? Al Goroid did present a bill to congress to study this. This is a fact..Cars run on electricity, urinals flush without water and some people can survive on a diet of human excrement . Go hook a fish and enjoy today!
I can't believe that anyone who has actually watched an "inconvenient truth" would post any of the posts that followed speyday's originally post. This is a serious issue that deserves replies from anglers who actually watched the movie and and have given some thought before they type.
Frankly, I am embarrassed that fellow stealheaders take this issue so lightly. - David Dornblaser
