rod question....

Im new to fly fishing and I originally bought a TFO 9ft 9wt, i broke the tip and replaced it with a st croix 9ft 8wt. TFO then sent me a new rod and I dont need 2 so which one should I keep and why. Thanks for the input..

It depends really where you fish. In Indiana Tribs there is a lot of sand and logs. Salmon and steelhead run in the 5 to 10 lb category with some bigger. In that situation the 9' 8 wt would be fine.

On the other hand, if you fish a gravel bottom river with a higher flow like the Salmon River in Upstate NY. My 9' 9weight is the ticket

for that matter wadeforme, keep them both. It gives you some options.
Heck, I feel bad...I think I'm holding on to 3 9' 9wts, 1 10wt, a 7wt I built,
a 9'6" 9wt fiberglass prototype I use for big NY king Salmon, and a couple more my wife doesn't know about. I use them all and/or take someone along who has never steelheaded before.
